Sizzling Prom Jewelry Tips
For a Spectacular Finishing Touch
Most people think that jewelry is used to enhance your prom dresses. But what you don't know is that the right kind of jewelry can be used to enhance a good feature, minimise a negative feature or even change the way you look!
Make sure your prom jewelry has what it takes to complement your outfit. This applies to all jewelry, whether it's to go with prom dresses or something more casual the same principles would apply.
Your size and shape are very important to the choice of prom jewelry. It's all relative really.
For example, earrings can be used to complement the shape of your face. Long straight earrings will often minimize the appearance of a strong jaw. Shorter earrings worn close to the face can be used to offset a long face.
Please remember to select your earrings carefully. They may very well be your most important jewelry item. They can reflect light and flattering color onto your face.
Another example of using jewelry to offset a negative feature is that a large chested girl should not wear a necklace any longer than 22 inches. Any longer and it starts to 'puddle' in the cleavage!
It needs to be shorter so that it draws attention upwards and away from large chest. Remember the central focal point we talked about on the
Big and Beautiful page?
- It's the same principle here.
But the opposite is true if you're not so well endowed in the bust - long chains will actually look very good on a flatter chest.
Prom jewelry such as chokers can hide a multitude of flaws as well. Particularly if they are in the neck area. But be careful that the width of the choker is right for the length of your neck. For example a wide choker will make a short neck look even shorter - so all you short necked gals take note!

Hands are emphasized by bracelets. If you have lovely hands a smaller thinner bracelet will bring the eye towards your hands especially if you are wearing a ring or two.
A larger bracelet draws the eye away from your hand - which is a good idea if your hands aren't that good.
Did you know that rings can make arms look much longer? But don't wear more than three at at time - too much and too distracting from your hot prom dress!
Of course the whole idea is to select jewelry that will complement your your whole prom outfit.
It is far better to wear simple styled prom dresses that can be complemented with a fabulous necklace or bracelet. Simple styling can have quite extravagant jewelry without looking garish.
A lot of the Prom Dress 2005 Collection seems to have lots of sparkles so they probably would not need anything more than a pair of fabulous earrings. Too much sparkle can be a definite no no.
Generally follow this rule: Earrings and necklace; or necklace and bracelets or bracelets and earrings. BUT NOT all three at once!
Certain pieces of prom jewelry are considered more traditional than others. For example diamond stud earrings suggest elegance, along with classic pearl necklaces and bracelets.
